For most of us, inflatable water rafts evoke memories of cheap pool toys that survived one summer before slowly deflating in the trash. The materials were cheap, the seams were weak, and it didn’t take more than a cannonball off the diving board to make a hole in your favorite blowup Orca. But that was then, and inflatable technology has come a long way over the past few decades. When we set our sights on the Star Challenger Inflatable Sit-On-Top Fishing Kayak, we knew it was time to put our faith in inflatables once again.
The Challenger is ready to join you on flatwater adventures both near and far from home. With a removable seat that folds conveniently away, all it takes is the included pump to fill three air chambers for confident handling on open water. The sit-on-top design is wider and therefore incredibly stable as you stand tall to cast, and lashing points at the bow secure equipment to keep you on the open water all day long. Where hardshell kayaks are cumbersome and clumsy, we love the included carry bag that lets us throw the Challenger in the trunk at a moment’s notice. Star included the carry bag, pump, and all-water fin for extra convenience.
